built new notebook, but...

OK, I have just built a Quanta barebone notebook with T2400 cpu, 1GB memory and 80GB SATA. All specced correctly and working items.

Slapped it all together and turned it on with XP CD in drive. The fan starts up, lights come on and cd whirrs for a bit and then nothing. fan is going, but no activity from cd or screen.

What am i doing wrong?

Bit of a long shot, but check the heat sink is correctly attached to the processor.

I was doing some stuff with Intel barebone laptops a while ago and that was a tip from the instructor.

While you're in there, worth checking all the other connections as well, but I guess you've already done that.

Cheers,
Matt.
