Just jumping in here .... my sounds are all there but for no apparent reason all sounds are as if they are coming via an echo chamber !

Unhappy I admit defeat
Removed & replaced the sound card (Sound Blasetr !Live 5.1)
Removed & replaced all the leads
Removed the drivers / deleted hardware via Windows Control Panel
Downloaded latest driver from SB website
Re-installed all SB s/w

Result - s*dding thing still won't work

Correction - still get high pitched buzz when playing back music (and no music) - doesn't matter what s/w is used - media player, etc
- still get nasty noise when windows outputs an alert

So, speakers now disabled, no sounds, no music, no filsm, nothing

Umm - new PC or VR3 and keep old computer with no sound???
