Quick IE question

I am changing computers, and want to somehow transfer my Favourites list to the new one.Anyone know if/how I can do this?

on your pc you'll find the following address

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Favorites

copy the folder from your old pc to your new pc

tada

Assuming its a standard windows install.


C:\Documents and Settings\Your_User_Name\Favorites

you simple need to copy that folder to the right place on the new install.

or use the Import/Export wizard (on the File Menu in IE)

Or you could use "File > Import & Export" instead You can also do your cookies with this.

Windows (At least XP & I think 2000) has a Files and Settings Transfer Wizard

On my XP Laptop it is at:-
Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Files and Settings Transfer Wizard

It should back up all your setting & files and allow you to re-import them on your new PC.

Have never tried this in anger, but do remember it existed.

nice idea, Firefox must be truly ace if it can copy favourites across from another machine that has been rebuilt. I stand amazed.

Or did we just think we'd post something funny rather than actually do something boring and old fashioned like read the original post
