Video making software
I've got a load of underwater .avi and .mov files taken over the last few years and have thought about stitching relevant ones together to make several longer movies.

I'm after a bit of software (the cheaper the better) that is easy to use to achieve the results I'm after such as adding titles, music, various transitions to hide where one movie end and another begins etc..

Anything out there?

Ulead Video Studio 9. You can get it for about £30 off Amazon - or download a trial version and google for, ahem, well you know... Its well worth the £30 though.

That said double check it handles MOV files, as I generally use it for MPG/AVI files.

Pinnacle studio. You can go for a older version such as 9.0 which is just as good as the 10.0, and a lot cheaper.

Pinnacle won't handle .mov files though. There was a thread about dealing with .mov files, started by Janos AFAIR.

But for .avi or .mpg it is very good and very flexible. I use version 9.4, purchased off ebay, original not a copy for £3.99!!

I picked up Pinnacle Studio 10 SE (I think it was SE) - a chopped down version - for £10 from 7dayshop.com. First time using it turned 15mins of footage into 10 min clip with mp3 soundtrack (music straight off the computer), all in just over 3 hours. Not sure what files it can read / manipulate - I was taking footage straight off tapes.

Cheers for the info guys. Had a look at Ulead Video Studio 10 and Pinnacle Studio Plus. BitTorrent is great isn't it

To overcome not being able to manipulate .mov files, there is an app called WinMPG Video Convertor that converts pretty much everything to anything.

If you have BitTorrent then Adobe Premiere Pro is what you want. It's not the easiest program to get to grips with, but it will do everything you could ask of a video editing program.
