| Read about Itunes having problems with Vista. Don't know the solution though. Hope you solve it soon.

| If it's iTunes it doesn't work properly on Vista yet. Otherwise possible causes, lack of memory - Vista is really resource hungry, you need about 2Gb of RAM. I know vista has some DRM issues, I don't know if/how these effect MP3 files though |

| cheers guys, it's not an itunes issue, just trying to play mp3 files through WMP. sorted now (hopefully) with advice from MS forum: "right-click on the Speaker icon in the system tray, select Playback Devices, right-click Speakers in that new dialog, go to Properties, then go to Enhancements - choose "Disable All Enhancements" |

| looks like your sound card acceleration features are disabled by that kind of solution. often see this described as a way around audio problems skipping/crashing in games. check you've got the correct drivers installed for your audio hardware, although being Vista you may need to monitor this for newer updates as hardware suppliers ship updated software to fix this kind of problem reported by users.
