Geek needed

After scoring just 38% on the geek 'o' meter I think here is the best place to ask for help.

Recently my home PC has been acting up so I decided to upgrade it, just in time it would seem. I am now the happy owner of a new system and I even managed to transfer most of my files over to the new PC.

However there are still a few bits and bobs I want but the old PC will no longer start up at all and is obviously f***ed
(tech term I believe).

The old hard drives still spin but the motherboard will not do anything. How can I get stuff from the old HD onto my new PC? Is there some sort of external cradle I can buy so that I can take the old HD out of the PC plug it in to the new one via USB2 port and get the stuff I need?

Seems like it should be possible but what sort of gizmo do I need? Where should I get it from? Any recommendations and what sort of price?

Thanks lots,

You can do that or you can get a 'geek' to simply put the old hd in your new comp, you can recover files, reformat the old drive and use it to store porn on

If you dont know a geek then you can probably buy an external enclosure from ebuyer or somewhere like that.

You could try it yourself I can do it and I'm only 28% geek and 21% chav

cheers

Adam
