| Broadband six month contract advice? I am getting fed up with our sloooow dial up connection at home and wondered if anybody could recommend a decent broadband package. There is only one problem.... We are currently renting a house on a six month lease (under five months left). The owners come back in March so we will not be extending beyond this. I have looked everywhere for a six month broadband contract without success. I have spoken to a few providers and they say that if I take out a twelve month contract and try to cancel it after six months, I still will be charged for the remaining months. Any ideas?

| I know nothing about these save they came up after a Google search.

| I was in the same position except I didn't know how long it would be before the house finally sold. I got monthly broadband from Virgin.net - slightly more expensive but no lock in. No Contract Broadband Providers includes "option 3" but their own website doesn't mention it.

| Be Broadband Check out Be broadband. Very good service, and you can cancel at anytime. be-broadband.info Just for more info: How long is the Be contract? For our Be unlimited and Be pro products, there is no contractual period, we simply ask for 3 months notice in writing to cancel your contract without incurring any additional cancellation charges. If you choose Be Value, your initial contract period is 1 year. After the first year, we simply ask for 1 months notice in writing to cancel your contract without incurring any additional cancellation charges HTH Ferg |

| Virgin does not bind you to a contract. (well, it didn't when I signed up) you can leave / change anytime.

| Zen is month by month as well. |

| Can you see a Neighbours wireless network?. Ask if they will let you piggyback till you move, and share the cost, or even pay the lot. The virgin contract contradicts itself, no 12 month contract, but you are charged a £50 cancellation fee if you cancel within 12 months!!!!!. It can be a real pain if you move regularly, you can’t actually move contracts, they restart with the full tie in period again. It is very easy to get stuck in a crap contract, remember today’s bargain is tomorrow’s crap contract. Glyn |

| Not sure what we are doing after March but might be moving to another country. Signed up for the Virgin package now anyway. Should be ok for us. Thanks all!
