| There is probably a browser option which says to disable pictures as standard. Those crosses are usually inserted in place of the images. Go to the menu which will be something like.... Tools > Options... and then have a poke around for something which disables images. That should sort it out.... (That's my guess anyway)

| OK still not working I had AOL dial up, now got AOL broadband How do I email, is that still through dial up? I presumed once I'd got broadband, the dial up would be redundant

| Hmmm, yeah, the dialup should be redundant. I'm assuming that you're using AOL's flavour of internet explorer. The setting that I was thinking of is in Tools > Options.... then the 'Advanced' tab and scroll down until you find the 'Multimedia' section. and then 'show pictures' below that. Hmmmm, I've just turned mine off but it doesn't give a red cross it just shows a place holder instead... Could it be some sort of security feature that AOL install blocking the pics? Sorry Gary, that's me out of idea

| Gary I dont know anything about it but I do have aol bband myself . Try going to the tool bar at the top and click on Settings then you'll see internet web browser settings....there may be some help there. Alternatively there used to be a free help phone number (dont know whether is still is) or you can use the live aol help and chat to someone on line. I've used this once before and it was very easy. |
