Help needed, im infected
I have a window popup evry few minutes telling me I have been infected by a Trogan.Agent. Now, I have Norton 360 software installed and it doesn't get rid of it. If I click OK it takes me to a site trying to flog the program to remove it.
I contacted Norton last night and they told me they could remove it, for £69!!!

Its Adware so ive been informed, I just thought Id try here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know the name of the Trojan? Can you C&P some of the text in a reply (or straight into Google)?

There are some free tools out on the web for this sort of thing but you need to know the name of the trojan.

AVG Anti-Virus and Internet Security - Welcome

and download AVG anti virus. Remove norton and install AVG. Update it, and then run it. It's free, and pretty good - better than Norton.

Also: Download and install Ad-Aware. This tool will scan and help you remove spyware/adware. It's free as well.

Ad-Aware 2007 Free - Lavasoft

Or alternatively do what I did. Stop wasting your time updating anti virus crap, and buy a Mac!!!!

I had that same Malware on my computer and it's a complete TW@T and AVG, Norton and the others just wouldn't shift it!
My brother removed it after a lot of trouble, I'll try and find some links which may help?

There are some pop up’s that point you to some kind of “buy this spam / pop up blocker” they are a real pain in the A$$ if you get one, its wrights to your registry and is very hard to remove. The chances are if you got it you will not get rid of it. I had to rebuild my son’s PC after trying for 3 day’s to get rid of it.

Ive been through most of the ovbious things, and tried some of the free software that have been mentioned. Its a real pain in the arse, its popping up everytime I click on on a link

Try this, McAfee Threat Center

Install an alternative browser (such as opera) until things are fixed which hopefully will stop the popups for a bit
