psp

I fancy putting in some custom firmware on my psp. Rumour has it that I need a Pandora battery together with a sony pro duo memory stick with programs. For anyone out there with any spare..... let me know what you want for it.

I don't fancy unsoldering a battery (hard mod) and don't have 1.5 to do a (soft mod).

Ciao

Lyv

what firmware do you have currently?
there are several ways to put custom firmware on your psp without going the hard-hack route

I think you can downgrade 3.3 via the lumines exploit
I downgraded mine using this exploit and it was extremely easy

Do you have lumines?

congrats on getting the custom firmware
sadly it's the only way to use a psp to it's full potential as it allows you to run the chip at it's designed Mhz, not the under-clocked method sony used to save battery power

anyway... free games isn't the reason to use custom firmware (saying that in public anyway) the homebrew aspect of custom firmware is great. Check that once you're finished downloading all the latest games from bittorrent

Just a report back, did the job and installed cfw 3.7. Played with this for a bit, got used to what it could do ie backing up my umd's onto pc then memory stick/speeding up clock speed etc.

THEN, on my second psp I upgraded to 3.9 vs 2. Am well impressed. Can even get internet radio. Have had no problems and have a pandora battery with a modded memory stick so can always re=install if I brick either of them at any time.

What a wonderful invention, there are even programmes out there that emulate dos and let you run the oldie games, doom, wolfenstein etc. Takes me back.

My psp is going to accompany me on any liveaboards I do in future.

Brill
