Depends on the bios of your laptop......

Some will ask you to press F1 to continue. Which is difficult when you have no keyboard attached! Others will ignore the missing keyboard and default to the USB one.

We cleaned keyboards regularly when I worked at IBM. Infact IBM wash their system boards with water now rather than CFCs. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Keyboards work by capacitance discharge. There are two electrical contacts and when you press a button it puts a bit of plastic between them. This plastic causes the capacitance and lets the system know a button has been pressed. The wine shorts the contacts so there is no capacitance discharge.
