Technology: Discuss spam in the Non-Diving Related Forums forums: i need some advice as to what spam filter to get at the moment i am receiving 3/400 emails ...

i need some advice as to what spam filter to get at the moment i am receiving 3/400 emails a day mainly junk.the email address is a business one so it can not be scrapped.

Hi mate - I can't help with the personal spam filters as I have been lucky so far as to not get much. However, a lot of spam filtering is (sometimes) done by your ISP - you might be able to have a word with them to see if they can help.

Try majorgeeks for some software, some costs but some is free

the problem with personal filters is that you have to download all the spam for it to then be filtered, which costs you bandwidth.

Can you forward your email to google mail and let their spam filter deal with it?

As you are talking about a business address, are you running your own SMTP server? or are you just collecting it from a mailbox that your ISP hosts?

Which email client are you using?

In general terms, if you are running your own servers look into greywalling and a server based Bayesian solution. If you are just collecting your mail from an ISP, look at client based Bayesian filtering.
