This is Egypt and I don't blame Egyptian men for trying to be friends with European girls. Life is really tough sometimes for them and I would probably do the same. But yes I am carefull. Next time I am suspicious that maybe he could monitor my phone activity I will definately ask him!!

Block him on facebook and MSN its very easy and he wont be able to see you on line. as for the phone issues, he can't see your TXT or when you turn or turn off your phone. As per email ;o)

the are some that when you turn your phone/sim card on and off it can spot the time and place and send it to a pc and track in real time

Yes but you will find these are subscriber services so the phone owner will know

not all tracking systems
or you could have one of Spy equipment, video surveillance equipment, GPS vehicle tracking. in your work car/van

this is all very 007 isn't it.. next there will be talk of hacking american millitary satellites and tasking them to track Georgina's every move realtime. An elite Egyptian special forces team will be dispatched to the target to ensure the "package's" safe arrival at the agreed destination - engaging any potential thread with exact and deadly force.

As for a phone emitting any form of interceptible signal while you compose a text - allowing someone to see what you are writing as you write it - again - very 007. I just don't believe it. Sure once send is pressed - but before.. nah..

I think Georgina has one of two situations: someone who is very caring and maybe a little too familiar - or - someone who might not be the full ticket (if you see what I mean).

Many things are possible, but for the most part they're too much effort to be done unless theres a massive return.

The new rules compel phone companies to retain information, however private, about all landline and mobile calls, and make them available to some 795 public bodies and quangos.
Records will detail precisely what calls are made, their time and duration, and the name and address of the registered user of the phone.
The files will even reveal where people are when they made mobile phone calls. By knowing which mast transmitted the signal, officials will be able to pinpoint the source of a call to within a few feet. This can even be used to track someone’s route if, for example, they make a call from a moving car.
Similar provisions are being brought in across Europe, but under much tighter regulation. In Britain, say critics, private and sensitive information will inevitably fall into the wrong hands.

The quoted advice comes from a firm who want to sell you a security product... playing on your privacy fears would be an effective way to sell more product, I imagine .... doesn't mean it's true though does it

It might be as simple as he sent you a text and got back a delivery report when you turned your phone on.

This is something I do when i am trying to talk to people that are flying places. When you get a delivery report you know you can call them.

Also might be linguistic/cultural differences.
