Angry poxy bl**dy Vista problems again!!!

Can one of the clever people tell me if I can overwrite Vista with XP Pro and reset my PC like it was before I ran the vista upgrade disc? Will I still have all my media files and settings?
If this can be done, is it easy enough to do and can I delete all the old vista files to get the hard disc space back?
Now - before you take the proverbial, I KNOW I should have just stuck with XP Pro
I do actually like the layout and style of Vista but it just seems to cause waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too many damn conflicts and stops too many things working.

Cheers in advance

How long ago did you upgrade if you didn't format the hard drive etc it may be possible to do a system restore to a previous version.

I am running vista but didn't upgrade I built a whole new PC from scratch so I am not sure how Vista behaves when you are upgrading from XP etc

As far as I know there is no way to regress back to XP once you've upgraded. I have read that technically it is possible but involves lots of very complex file work which, from your 'I'm not that clever' comment, would be beyond your cabability (with all due respect!)

Assuming that you have backed up your personal files (you have, haven't you?) the best solution is to put your original XP cd in the drive, boot from it and run a clean install after deleting the Vista install. Once complete, restore your backups and you should be good to go.

If you have any problems, then let the forum members know. We've got loads of tekkie people on here that can give advice.

Good luck!
