Ipod dock - which one?
Hey chaps. Im looking to get an ipod speaker dock for the saloon on the boat, we already have a big stereo but since most people bring an MP3 player these days....

Can anyone reccomend a decent one?

if you want a cheapo one, we had some in the sale at superdrug, so there might be one knocking about at one near you.
or you could just get a lead that goes into your stereo and into the headphone slot in ur Mp3 so its not just for iPods

Depends on how much you want to spend but you can get a good secondhand bose from ebay and they are fantastic

Why not get one you can plug into your stereo system? I've got a simple dock, with audio leads out and a remote. Means I can put pictures from the ipod easily onto a telly as well.

not sure you can plug into the stereo, its about 4 years old and doesnt say anything about having another source in ie mp3 etc. Unless there is something round the back of it i can plug into?

I plug mine in to my amp on my stereo via the yellow red and white plug type things. If you don't have those on the stereo then get the BOSE type one instead.

For about £50 don't think you can beat the Logitech MM50. Nice sound, built-in rechargeable battery, portable with remote.

About 1/5 of the price of the Bose unit and the Bose one doesn't sound 5x better

I have an Altec Lansing im7, picked it up new from Amazon for £90.
It has good sound quality, good volume and built in subwoofer. You can either dock an i-pod or plug in any mp3 player.
