Digital Photo Frames.

Yes, I know, very kitsch but I'm thinking of getting one for my parents in the UK (father's birthday), as their grandkids (mine & my sister's family) are here in Aus and all our photos are digital these days. The digital frame seems ideal, as we can park a 1Gb memory stick with 1000+ snaps in the back and away it goes.

Thing is, there's not much point in me buying here just to post o/seas; so I was thinking of going through an online UK seller - that way, it should have a British type plug on it, rather than the Aus version.

Anyone on here have any suggestions of a reliable and reputable but at the same time, reasonably priced UK seller?

Don't know anything about the frames, but these guys sell 'em and they've always been reliable for me.

Richard,

You could try EBuyer, check out Extra Value 10 inch Hi-Resolution Digital Photo Frame Silver with Remote Control - Ebuyer

I've used them a lot over the years for work stuff and they have been competitive and reliable

I bought this digi frame for my better half and it has been excellent - I particularly wanted one that ran a slide show - some of the cheaper ones don't - and it can use a variety of media.

Apparently Kodak were offering a frame that you could link to their website so potentially connect from anywhere in the world and "easily" send stuff to family abroad. I only found this out after I had bought this one but equally they were not cheap, the download flakey and not very user friendly for aged parents to manage.

So I'm more than happy with what I got.

Bought one off the highstreet (so not cheap)for my parents. Superb, takes a variety of cards. We now just send a new card with photos or vid clips every now and again. Highly recommended.

Cheers, Paul

My Colleague at work bought one at xmas from Jessop's. Stuart paid £99 for the digi Photo frame. The problem with the cheaper frame's is that they have a 16:9 as opposed to 3:2 (Stuart's info as I do not know anything about digi photo frames) which apparently either stretches the photo or leaves black bars down the side.

Hope this helps

In contrast - I bought one of these in black for my parents for Christmas - when it turned up it was scuffed and scratched (looked second hand) and if your photos are not the right shape there doesn't seem to be an automatic way of cropping them to fit the fame, instead it squashes them all. I wasn't impressed and it went back - to be fair they did refund me promptly and not charge me for the return postage so no quibble with the seller and the frame is large and high res, maybe if you were willing to resize all the photos you wanted to show on the computer first it would work well but I wanted my parents to be able to put any of their SD cards in it with no hassle.

I have just bought a much smaller frame for the same amount of money off amazon as there is nothing else around at the same kind of size for the price as the e-buyer one, however parents seem to have managed to set it up without my help and are quite happy - it crops the photos or puts black bands either side of them, much better than squashing them.

I bought one for my son in law for Christmas as he is very much into digital photography as well as being an artist. Mine was purchased from Staples and cost £80 if I recall correctly.
