Office 2007 compatibility with older versions?

May sound obvious but I just want to make sure. If I do a presentation on powerpoint 2007 can I then present it on older versions of Powerpoint or will it have errors?

Hope this isn't too simple of a question, i just dont want to go to do a presentastion and look a fool!

Cheers all...

There is an option when you save, to save it in the earlier formats, make sure you do this, otherwise it will not be viewable on earlier versions.

Some of the bells and whistles may not be savable in the earlier format, i know this is the case in Excel, if you "save as" the earlier excel format it loses some formatting! It is likely to be the same with powerpoint.

I have had the good fortune not to have to use pp2007 yet, I hate presentations!

This isn't true, although you do need to install a doc converter to do it. I'm running Office 2003 and some of my colleagues on 2007 distribute docs in the 2007 format. When I tried to view my first .pptx file (Powerpoint 2007), PP 2003 popped up a message telling me to install the converter.

i agree with that,

taking a bit of a risk that the machine you will be using has an internet connection at the time you want to use it.

make sure you get there early to do the upgrade too.
