I've never heard of any of them but I received a special offer from Amazon earlier £172 for the Tom Tom 520. Bargain!

Having owned *rubbish* Sat Nav systems which I have paid up to £800 for the Tom Tom is excellent.

The ones from your work look quite expensive for stuff I've never heard of.... How "special" are these offers? How much better than the Tom Tom can they be? Not much IMO...

Tom Tom now do a subscription to camera database which is updated weekly, either that or what woz/dsd said. You can set sounds to alert you to upcoming camera's. I have a siren to warn me of camera locations. I bought my Tom Tom Go 300 in 2005 when they were £350 (that was duty free). Well worth it as I have not had any points since!

IMHO the Tom Tom platform is the easiest and most user friendly platform to work with. I spent 8 weeks working across tom tom, Navman & garmin geo coding all of our sites for a POI release and Tom Tom is by far the best.
All the major retailers normally have offers on sat nav's around easter time. In fact I may have a spare one in the office that did not gest used in a prize draw last year. Let me check - we had 2, I flogged one to a member of staff in Jan for £115 if your interested.

Do you have many mobile camera sites ? its almost all there is here so gps locators are fairly useless.

pocket GPS world updates cover where mobiles have been used, the police tend tom use the same sites regularly so you have a good chance of detecting them.

that said the best way to avoid the ticket is drive within the speed limit. its that simple really

Have a look at the Nokia 6110 Navigator. It does it all, and some more. I even use mine on boats!

I think you can only get it from Vodaphone due to a special 'tie up'. Or buy it direct from Nokia's website.
