Excel is ok, camera fine and the wi-fi web access pretty useful.

The piratebay is a great place for the Tom Tm software, I bought mine from Ebay - come to that pm me if you can't find anything that suits.

Worst bit is actually the phone - key lock a pain but memory system for contacts is good.

As far as I am aware neither are made by Palm - Palm is an OS and don't do hardware. My M600 and M3100 are HTC's rebadged and run Windows Mobile.

EDIT: the M700 is also an HTC derivative

Don't wrestle with a pig. You'll only get as dirty as the pig & the pig likes it

- the camera is pants. The quality is ok, but it is stunningly slow to focus and take. I've given up trying to take photos of my lad with it - he just doesn't sit still long enough

Wel I had a phone call from Vodafone earlier in the week and as well as saving me £21 per month they also gave me a deal so I could get the V1615 (the vodafone badge version of this phone) for free! YAY!

So yesterday I got my hands on it and I can completely agree with your observations.

The power button doesn't bother me too much as I just leave it on...
The camera is soooooo slow to take a picture. Ah well.
I've got lock on the home screen too.

What does everyone else think of the battery life? I'm guessing the battery needs to "wear in"? As I charged it fully for a few hours last night and it died this afternoon I'll give it a massive charge this afternoon/evening/night.

V-planner going on it this afternoon! YAY!!!

Camera is a bit slow but change the settings to half click, extending battery life takes a bit of fiddling with the settings, GPS will kill it in 2 hours, we have several as company phones and all took several charges / discharges to get any real usage, the only real pain is the screen in daylight.but charging from a pc via usb does not give a true charge ,might show 100% but is not in reality, I get about a day but use the phone a lot and have push email running all day.
