Super new Jelly Bone

I just took delivery of a HTC TyTN11 on an Orange contract. Before I fill it up with V-Planner and Tide Plotter, any one got other suggestions? What'sd the gps like on it?

The GPS is functional and not too bad. I'd definitely recommend Google Maps for Mobile

I've also got Tube 2 from Visual IT Mobile Solutions, Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Palm, Blackberry, Symbian & Smartphone Software which is a bit of a misnomer cos as well as the London transport maps I've got the London and Paris Geo maps that are street maps with GPS support and pretty good.

Dive-wise I've got the usual suspects of V-Planner, DecoPlanner (MobileDeco), etc and a variety of PDFs, spreadsheets and documents

I'll be interested to hear how you get on with it. I've been looking at it in a vodafone flavour and have read mixed reviews.

Well I had the M3100 (HERM) previously and got used to it's little foibles, this one seems pretty similar. I don't think the tilting screen is much use as it blocks off some of the keyboard when tilted. Orange-added software seems stable enough at the moment

I've had one for a few months now and really like it for what I use it for. I've had the previous versions of smart phones so am pretty familiar with it.

Things I'm not so keen on are:
- still not easy to lock. I end up putting the "lock/unlock" option on the homescreen. It would be nice if holding the end call button locked it.
- the power button on the side of this model is pretty flush with the case. I find it frustratingly tricky to locate to turn on/off.
- the camera is pants. The quality is ok, but it is stunningly slow to focus and take. I've given up trying to take photos of my lad with it - he just doesn't sit still long enough

Other than that it's ok

It only really blocks the left and right option buttons if you tilt it up all the way - but these are just buttons for what's on the screen anyway so you can always just poke the screen

I certainly agree with the first two points after only one day. The power button is harder to get at and for the lock/unlock issue, I've always just used the screen option. Camera sounds good, but I'll have to have a play with it.

Thanks for your comments so far.

Thought of another couple of niggles

- the display is really dim when locked so in daylight it's really hard to see the "unlock" button you need to tap on the screen
- the voicemail notification symbol doesn't seem to respond to being tapped after you've dismissed the notification. You still have the little symbol at the top of the screen but it does nothing.

No biggies tho

I use the SPV M700, looks very similier and I would think both are made by Palm on the same operation system.

I use Tom Tom 5 software and get on great with it, works well with the in build GPS, so much more user friendly the the m500.

Excel is ok, camera fine and the wi-fi web access pretty useful.

The piratebay is a great place for the Tom Tm software, I bought mine from Ebay - come to that pm me if you can't find anything that suits.

Worst bit is actually the phone - key lock a pain but memory system for contacts is good.
