Lightroom Web Module

Dear all,

I’m looking to create or amend a site in Lightroom but getting a bit stuck. Some of the templates are great but I would like to have a front page that contains links to various sections within the site ie, the main page will be called index.html and on this will be links such as:

Underwater
Wildlife
Landscapes etc…

On this page will be a photo of some description and some contact details. Then when clicking on one of the links it takes me to the relevant section in Lightroom (underwater.html etc.) where I can edit this page. On all subsequent pages I would like the menu system to remain constant. Is it possible to achieve all this in Lightroom or am I realistically looking at creating different sites for each section and then creating a main page and adding a menu system to each of the sub heading pages. I have no problems doing this but was hoping to keep everything in Lightroom. Does anyone know of any tutorials on the web for this as my search has drawn a blank.

Hope that makes sense!

Many thanks,

Ian

Ian,
does make sense, BUT..... What I did was create a photo page in Lightroom, I then "manually" added the menus from raw code using a text editor. By keeping things simple (i.e. the only difference between each page of photos is say a file name with a letter change, like _a, _b etc) I quickly coded a load of pages using a text editor.

The results are here robcuss.co.uk - so I basically took a freely available template and added in the Lightroom part. This is a bit of a faff, but didn't actually take that long (maybe an hour or so to make the first photo page, then a couple of hours to make 20 or 30 pages).

Hope that makes sense,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks for that. That's the kind of thing I'm thinking of but was hoping that Lightroom would suffice. As my tagline says, "Able, but idle" . Has given me some ideas though..

One more thing, the copyright notice on each image, did you do this manually or is Lightroom capable of adding one en masse?

Cheers,

Ian

I'm pretty sure you can do it in Lightroom, but I use a freeware utility called Visualizer Photo Resize (re-sizes, compresses and adds the watermark in one huge batch!!). Link is Photo-Freeware.net - Visualizer Photo Resize Download

Ian,

Keep an eye on Lightroom Galleries

They have lots of useful templates, but are close to completion of the "LRG Complete Template" I reckon this could be what you're looking for.

With regard to the copyright notice, have a look at the "Output Settings" box in the web module; you can add the copyright notice there.

Thanks Mick that TTG Shadowbox Gallery looks pretty nice and slick. Will give that a whirl later, along with the copyright notice.

Cheers again,

Ian
