I upgraded my Acer 80gb to a 160gb a while ago. Also got a 2.5" caddy so i could use the old drive as an external USB although obviously if your drive is poorly this isn't a good idea.

As far as im aware all the acers are IDE.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

2.5" is laptop size
3.5" is desktop size

You can get caddys for both but i find 2.5" far more compact for travelling with.

If you ordered a 2.5" drive it'll fit in the laptop. If its Acer just 2 screws to undo underneath. (compared to changing optical drive where you have to remove all the bottom screws, the screen and the keyboard to get at it which is a complete PITA)
