| Windows Movie Maker (XP, Vista) or iMovie (OSX) are both free and will do a very decent job very simply if all you're after is reasonably basic.

| Try Google! file type .mod jvc video - Google Search= Converting ,mod files to .avi, mpeg or wmv. looks useful. By the sound of it, just rename all of the *.mod files to *.mpg.
