Calling computer literate peeps
My MSN is down and I get this message when I try to connect.
Error code: 8100030d. Has anyone got any idea what that means please? When i click on MSN service status it says all systems are stable and running, mine aint!

I've just googled the code and it seems to be Zone alarm that is causing the probs.

What is a zone alarm? Where would I find it? I have shut down my laptop a couple of times to no avail. Also for future reference when you google a error code what do you actually type in?

Zonealarm is a firewall, if you have it you will have a "Z" or a red/green graphic equaliser on the bottom right of your taskbar (near the clock)

Go to the Microsoft messenger website and upgrade to the latest version, should cure the problem on both fronts. Zonealarm or not.

Yazzy - I think I had that a couple of weeks ago - have you installed the updated version of MSN recently?

That corrupted mine - can't remember what it was to do with, but I deinstalled the new one (and the MSN Assistant) and went back to the older version - works now (well, when Maltacom let it )
