| david, yes the screen can be repaired. replacement screen from NEW PACKARD BELL R1938 15.4" LAPTOP NOTEBOOK LCD SCREEN on eBay, also, Screens LCD Panels, Laptop Accessories, Computing (end time 27-Mar-08 13:22:14 GMT) easiest way is to get an external tft screen or replace the laptop. your laptop isn't that new and you can get a new one for £300-£400. If your down Reading way ever, I can swap the screens over, takes less than an hour. undoubtedly another YD'er near you can do it. or you could do it yourself. | I did the same thing with my old Tiny laptop. Bought a secondhand replacement screen off ebay and fitted it myself. Surprisingly simple to do. There is one on ebay right now for yours for £140 delivered or they will will fit the screen for you if you send them your laptop. Alternatively there is a nice deal on a HP laptop for £379 in Tescos i saw tonight. AMD 1.9 Ghz dual core processor, 2gb RAM, 120GB HDD and Nvidia 7000M graphics chip. Jim

| I broke the screen on my Toshiba laptop last year. I bought a replacement from this ebay seller for £99. It took me half an hour to replace the screen, there are plenty of sites that provide a step by step guide.

| Mine is badly scratched with about 20 dead pixels but the cost of a new screen is about 80% the cost of a new laptop
