A rip-off money-making scheme to allow them to charge £50 for a £1 length of wire!

Just try changing the red for the yellow cable, I have a classic

A "new" classic, ie the most recent model (only comes in 80GB and 160GB, I believe)? Definitely doesn't work with the cable i've got (will tell you that no cable is connected), and everything I noticed on the Apple forums when I first got it (when I was trying to fix all the various bugs / "features" of the iPod) suggested it wasn't possible at all.
