    Renew Nortons at full price EVERY year??

    I bought Norton 360 last year for £60 and have now had a message come up saying it needs renewing. I followed the link expecting to pay a minimal charge to keep the virus definitions up to date, say £15, however I am expected to pay £58. Is this really how it works with Norton and are there fairer ways to protect your PC. Seems like a bit of a con to me, but as we use the PC for internet banking and are also wireless I did feel more confident with a big name like Norton. Perhaps I'm being a cheapskate.

    only £19.99 +p&p .
    You will need to go onto Norton Website & use their "removal " tool for your present one & then install the new version .

    i wouldnt even install norton on my system !its crap and makes ya system lag and slow down !

    A guy at work was quoted around £35 for a year's subscription to Windows Live OneCare direct from Microsoft.

    He got it from eBuyer for £11.

    Nortons justs slows your system down, the best thing you can do is remove it and go to: -

    AVG Free - Download AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition for Windows XP and Vista

    AVG Free by Grisoft updates itself everytime you connect to the internet and offers web, email and spam protection. Oh... Its also free!

    I used to always have Norton, but ditched it ages ago due to how badly it slows the computer down. I've been on AVG Free ever since with no issues but I understand the new version is a bit pants. Comodo is also meant to be good and also free, though it's one I've never used.

    Kasperspy has a decent reputation if you are paying for one, but I'm sure others can advise better.
