| Had one in my last car that I departed with last November. I fitted it myself, it just plugged into the c.d. changer socket on the back of the radio which was a factory fit in a Fiat Stilo. On selecting the source of CD changer I was controlling the iPod. The sound quality was no different to having a c.d. in and it paused the music when my phone car kit was in use. It disabled the controls on the iPod to stop you playing around with it while driving but once you got used to using the controls on the radio with it you will be fine.

| What if you have a CD changer head unit? I have in the Audi but would like an ipod connector.

| Yesterday I had an Alpine Dxr 100 (or DRX) installed. It is not cheap - it set me back €365 but is specific to the IPOD. A cable connect to the IPOD, in my case I leave it in the glove compartment. The head of the radio has a screen, here you can select the music, podcasts but not videos. I really like it and the sound is 1000 times better than the radio transmiter. I drive a lot and use the podcats a lot so for me it was well worth the money. One point I noticed is that the podcasts are listed alphabetically per podcast, so for example Chris Evans is listed alphabetically, farming today though is by date. This unit has a radio but no CD player. There are other units of Alpine to connect to the IPOD but with lesser screen- Check out their website.

| My SWMBO car has an AUX option on the radio and has a cable where you can connect the IPOD to the headphone jack. In this case she has it in central console on her Maxda 3 and does the changing manually on the ipod itself.
