Xbox360 problem

I've had to change the TV I play my 360 on... sigh... I've now 'got' to play it on the 50" LCD .

Only set it up last night, and the only way I can get a picture is to have the little switch on the lead to the telly, switched to 'TV'. As soon as I switch it back over to HDMI (as it was on the other TV) I can't get a picture, but I can hear sound.

If I try to play COD4 on the TV setting, it tells me it needs to change settings to 60mhz from 50mhz (or is it the other way around??), but the picture is still crapola as it's not HD.

I have the red, white and yellow plugs put into their corresponding slots on the TV, with the right EXT channel selected.

There is a slot for an HDMI lead in the side, is there an adaptor or something that you can get for the Xbox (similar to the scart one you can get?), The TV is mounted on the wall, with no access to any scart sockets.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Pete

I know the 360 Elite comes with an HDMI cable as opposed to a component one, try here, looks like the sort of thing:

Amazon.co.uk: Xbox 360 HDMI Cable (X360): PC & Video Games

Presumably you just plug an HDMI lead in the back of the 360 and the other end into the telly. Does the 360 not have HDMI out.

The only other way to get an HD picture is to use composit inputs. The red white and yellow lead inputs are total pony.

Hmmmm... might have a problem here... looks like if you bought your 360 AFTER October 2007, you'll have an HDMI on your Xbox... I however, bought mine in February 2007, so it's not looking hopeful for this... (I'm at work ATM, so can't looky see).

Damn...

So what you really need if for it to give you the red ring of death, then you can send it back under warranty and get a shiny new one, with HDMI

Just had another thought, have you had a look at the xbox settings? I think you might be able to change from 50hz - 60hz in there.

Apologies, said composite, mean COMPONENT. Its the one with 7 inputs, 2 Audio 5 Video (various red/blue/green connectors at each end) Your TV may well have direct component input on it somewhere (like the red white yellow you're using now - just more of them) If it has then you'll be able to find a component lead with and end to match your 360 and bobs your left one - HD picture.

Something like this:

Amazon.co.uk: Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable (Xbox 360): PC & Video Games

Its cheaper than the HDMI as well, always a bonus!

Be too late... over a year old... you can change the settings from 50 to 60, only you still don't have it in HD.

That's the lead I've got! But only have the RYW points showing on the TV. I think the rest are on there, but on the back of the TV, which is now very securely fixed to the wall!

Great... only you need to have the sockets on show to push them into...

Double damn...
