O ring ref for Suunto Vyper

Have got 3 battery blobs left on the Vyper so would like to get the O ring to change the battery. Anyone know the O ring size or reference? Am buggered if I am going to pay a zillion quid for a Suunto service kit when I can get samples from my seal supplier for nowt.

And how much longer will the Vyper live for with 3 blobs?

nickjb saw the sea in a book once
My Stinger stayed on max blobs for ages (2 years) but once they started dropping it didn't take very long (a couple of months) before I got a BAT warning.

I think I might just do the same. The O ring on my SME-ML (aaaah lovely antique) is 16 years old and still going strong.

According to the back of my user manual for the vytec It's:

1.78mm x 31.47mm 70 ShA (K5664).

I have no idea what this means. I bet you do though. I don't know whether it's the same for the Viper

I ought to get a spare battery in case it conks out mid trip. (Ruin the dive, not the weekend)

Laters,
Janos

That will be thickness, ID (or OD) and shore hardness.

And why a shed avatar?

Because of my shed

More of an enthusiastic amateur though rather then building anything useful. However, I have made a million flags for members of the club (raffle them off at auctions) a buddy line, and I've also come up with an idea for a triangular deco trapeze which Digger was going to test although I'm not sure he did or not. Mine is currently awaiting a rebuild and pool trialling, but I'm too busy diving most weekends to do much diy.

Laters,
Janos

Great site. Very sheddy
I make my flags in exactly the same way (see- convergence at work) but instead of ripstop nylon I use hi-viz vests- luminous and have those reflective stripes on them. Even more useful for attracting attention in the bar.
If it's the same triangular deco trapeze that Digs was sketching in the pub then you need to wrestle the credit back off him 'cos he was claming it was his idea, the chipmunk cheeked charletain.

Aha. O ring size also in the back of my Vyper manual now I get home. Well there you go. And the same size as a Vytec too.

I got two replacement batteries for my Viper from Battery House
www.batteryhouse.co.uk

If I remember correctly it was about £4.50 for the two including postage.
