Hi all,
I did a IANTD trimix course last year (the 48m one), Do I have to take the full entry level trimix course (any agency) or can I just "top up" my existing qualification to get the 60m ticket?
Thanks...

Find the instructor you plan to use and ask them.
I did the IANTD Adv Rec Trimix last year and was advised that to go forward with TDI I should do the full 4 day course.
Give the price of failure I'd rather have the extra training.
Anyway, something different to do whilst I wait for the sea to get more friendly.

PSAI Level 2 Trimix (75m) might be available to you. I think you need an ERD or equivalent as a pre-requisite.
Just how many gazillion trimix courses do you need to do today to get a trimix ticket?
Not trying to start a ruck here, but I did my course back in the days when there was only 1 trimix course (per agency). It just looks like a money racket to me.

The rec trimix has replaced ERD with most agencies. As ERD used to be regarded as a prerequisite for trimix the agencies are now using rec trimix instead. Have a word with your Instructor they may be able to tailor something for you.

I did the TDI one with Jim Dowling (on here occasionally)
- it was a breeze (that's not totally truebut it was a week in Red Sea well spent and a lot learnt)

IANTD's ERD program still exists (it's called Technical Diver), Advanced Recreational Trimix doesn't replace it, ART's an entry level tech program, roughly equivalent to IANTD Advanced Nitrox, using Triox instead of air.
As you suggest, the ART satifies the certification prereq for entrance onto the Normoxic course, however you would still need to complete the full course (it is possible to shorten the Normoxic course if you hold the technical diver cert, although that would be at the instructors discretion).
