Question Custom Divers TBK

Hi hope you can offer a bit of help, I just got a tbk and twin 10's with manifold and solid double boots. I have tried all sorts of positions but just can't get them stable. Can anyone help?

Hello,

What you mean by stable, are you using SS bands or what?

Regards

Sorry badly phrased, it does not have s/s bands but a twin boot - the cylinders are very tight with no movement i.e twisting or separating.
When I fit them to the wing they seem to rock and slide side to side as a unit. They seem to pivot around my spine - this bcd has no way of fitting a backplate so it relies on the tension of the webbing bands. I posted this to see if I was missing something obvious or if I want stability to purchase a wing with a backplate and harness.

Give Alex a ring at Custom Divers (01737 773000). He's very helpful and willing to spend time answering your questions. Only thing is he will probably recommend a CD backplate and harness.

If he does, and thats the way you decide to go, don't buy it direct from CD, go to someone like SDS. You WILL get it cheaper. EG Remote isolator from CD £96+£10 P&P=£106. from SDS £83+£4 P&P=£87.

Alex gets the sale indirectly (ie the shop have to replace what you buy) but you end up paying less .

Dive safe

Darren

PS You'll probably find you get a better response if you give your real name somewhere in your post/profile.

Hi Neil,

Just had a look at the CD website, and I see what you mean. This product can't have the usual CD backplate and harness (I have the TCW/backplate and harness). In that case I would still recommend you give Alex a ring. You probably won't have to buy anything else, it's probably just set up wrong.

I live in Luton, but travelled down to Surrey to meet Alex (at his invitation) so he could advise on my harnesses setup, as I bought it second hand off some one who was about a foot taller than me, and about 3 stone lighter!! I didn't buy anything else, but he still spent 3/4 of an hour with me adjusting bits and bobs.

By the way, wasn't being critical of you or anything for not saying who you were. Welcome to YD - it's addictive!!

Good luck

Darren
