Anybody know of any dive plan software for the PC (specifically for planning deco diving)? - Just for interest at the moment but may come in useful in the future.

Just as an update to this, I have found this free software from the Gas Absorption Program website. May be useful?

Have a look at XS software which can be found at the lizardland website. We recently used it on a trip to the middle of Spain with altitude dives (at 980m a.s.l) and dives to -45m (bottom times around 36 mins)on various mixes without problems. The software is reasonably easy to use & good for playing "what if???". It incorporates latest ideas & options, and the accompanying manual (in text) is well worth a read.

Cheers

Hi Scoff - welcome to the board. Thanks for that info - I'll check it out today. I downloaded and installed the GAP software (see above posts) and it seems good for running the 'what if' scenarios too..

Try also
http://www.coastnet.com/~powercheck/...index-old.html -I used for a long time and it is very easy to use and never bent me. It has been superceded by
http://www.coastnet.com/~powercheck/vplanner/ -which uses the VPM system. I am not too sure about VPM, it hasn't been tested enough I feel, and I hear rumourse it has bent some.
http://www.drogon.net/ddplan/ -is written by the excellent Gordon Henderson, and is raved about by many. Well woth trying out - Gordon is also pretty approachable if you have a problem.
The program I personally use at the moment is-
http://www.subaqua.co.uk/DivePlan/ which uses Gradient Functions, and runs on a Psion 5. Greg Roach has now got it ported to run on some Nokia mobile phones!!
Finally a bit of advice - unless you know what you are doing, and/or have had training of - say - Tech Nitrox or above, all this stuff can be dangerous.
Roger

Cheers Roger and welcome to the board. I'll check these out. As I said, at the moment it is more for learning aboput deco procedures than actually doing deco dives.
