Imported post Phil Do you know of anywhere in the UK which uses premix? I thought the cost of the gases and limitation of mixes were prohibative unless you were just catering for the 32 and 36 percent clientel.

Imported post Yes Phil, your post makes sense but perhaps you misunderstood my post, when I asked them (DWH) for a "nitrox 7l stage" and the guy told me it had been O2 cleaned that morning I assumed that it was cleaned to a standard that did not preclude regular nitrox methods, for the label to state what it does, ie premix up to 40%, suggests it hasn't been cleaned at all. As Andy has suggested, premix nitrox isn't the typical method of retail these days, or at least I'm not aware of it in my LDS's Think I'll have to ring DWH about this Chee-az Steve

Imported post Sorry Steve, I see what you mean, all equipment is suitable for 40% providing manufacturer agrees. So if the cylinder is for 40% then it is not 02 clean. I would like to see the label it sounds pointless. I have not seen anywhere that supplies 32% 36% etc on Draught. Capers plan to do this at some stage because the partial press blend process is very time consuming. So as they say watch this space.

Imported post :wavey: Still gotta do my 'trox with Andy at some point :outtahere: Gotta hide that 12 of 40%.....

Imported post Hi Steve sorrey for slow reply M8 Basicly the question was: Plan a dive to 42m for 30mins: Show best mix for bottom gas Gas required including redundancy Best mix for deco gas Gas required for deco calculating usage against each stop depth. Plan deco table showing bail out on lost deco gas. Nice easy question except for one thing. The tables provided in the manual couldent cope with gas switching. As a result I had to use decoplanner to answer the question. Also on the SAC's provided the chap needed twin 15ltr's for the dive??? Rest of the questions were OK and sensable but I couldent understand why there wasnt more emphasis on overdoing CNS quotas on enriched or 100% 02 deco. I would gues any one who, like me, wanted a 100% ticket wants it for deco. Also in reply to the Deco Procedures question. They dont need stages either. I did it with Paul Marks and very good he was to. But we did the whole thing on back gas. It was all about, planning the dive, equipment configuration, holding and timimg stops and SMB work. Tip of the day was Atrixo hand creem prior to putting gloves on (Magic) and 6m, 9m and 12m markers on my SMB line to hold stops without a depth gauge. Top Stuff. Paul tells me that stage wrk comes into play on the Trimix course big time. Suposed to be doing Mol as part of course with Paul tomorow but it looks iffey All the best, Mark Chase.

Imported post Ben/WetLettuce - I'm up for the Adv Nitrox/Deco too - got any course dates/prices/locations in mind? Once the bomb drops, I might scuttle over to Egypt and do it there, as I reckon prices will get stoopid once people stop booking. If not, a Tp gig sounds cool...

Imported post Edinburgh dive centre do premix but it really isn't the normal method for most outlets.
