I am not sure hour you do it on proplanner because I mainly use deco planner BUT on the VR3 you just tick the gas your going to enter the water with and set the PPo2

So when doing the gas list imput the gas you want to start the dive on last. If your doing 100% 32% and 14/55 imput the 100% then the 14/55% then the 32% and tick 32%. It will then prompt you for a gas switch at the pre set PP02 max or you can force a gas switch at 1.4 and it will recalculate you deco from there.

As for tables they will never match the actual dater given on the VR3 unless you do a very very square profile. They are bail out so should be pland safley below planned dive depth and used with a depth gauge and bottom timer if the VR3 goes all technical on you. They should also give a reasnoble comparison data fro the VR3.

If I plan a dive to 60m and end up doing it at 55 for 30mins and the VR3 gives me 15mins less deco thats cool if it gives me 30mins less deco thats bullshit and I am back on tables.

Just interested in your planned profile - why are you going from 30m @30% to He? What sort of He mix & why?

Cheers

Got to be a cave dive realy to justifie that. IE 25m for 30mins then drop to 60m sort of thing.

If its an OW dive just leve computer set to back gas and use travel gas down to switch depth which will take all of about 2 mins (OK 4 if you do a bubble check).

<font color='#000080'>Hi

The plan might be to breathe travel gas until reaching a depth of 30 mtrs and then use bottom gas, the effect being to maximise available bottom gas as the 30% wouldn't be used much in terms of deco. Just guessing as I wouldn't do that myself.

I quite like the VR3 (but I do feel a bit of an odd one out - I got the hang of it very quickly). The manual is rubbish however and the screen guard is a nightmare (lots of air bubbles under it somehow).

I know there are plans to launch a programming cable so I may wait and see if that does the same job as the IR link rather than buy one now. Does anyone have any news on it at all? It seems to have been delayed by about a year so far &nbsp;

<font color='#0000FF'>nick,
i will check will delta-p re; pc to i/o connector cable.
the ir link now comes complete with a 9pin extension cable to allow the ir link to be flexible for positioning.
the new computer guard is now available and is basically a clear cover that sits above the unit with retaining clips and is supported by passing over the i/o connector.
if you want a look at one let me know and i'll send it on approval.
normally heating the guard with a hairdryer before fitting stops the bubbles with the rubber guard.
delta-p have now released a quick set-up guide that comes lamented for outdoor use,i am expecting to see it shortly and i will post it.
cheers

Barrie
Is there any chance of you posting a picture of the guard? I had bubbles under my stick on protector and have now removed it.
By the way the big graphics worked a treat.

Hi Barrie,

Thanks for the help and info &nbsp;

Looks like I didn't quite get the guard warm enough before I stuck it down and I'm glad to hear about the new one. Appart from the stick on screen guard and the interface (hey, I make the same complaints abotu the Vytec. Divers, never happy! ), I think the VR3 is a superb bit of kit and have been really happy with it so far.

I'd love to see any pics of the guard if you have any.
