| Imported post Sorry Helen, let me give you an example of how fu**ed up 'pooters really are. When mine was downloaded after my offgassing problem and what I'd done was compared to Bhullmanns(speelin?) it looked a bit like this; 1st dive-copmputer told me 5mins I did 8. Buhllmanns would have given me 12. That's not a "big" difference really. 2nd dive-computer never went into deco, in fact the nearest it got was 5mins no-stop. This is the frightening bit, I was actually off the scale on Buhllmans. They didn't even deal with deco'ing at those times. There was nothing spectacular about the dives; 1 at 35'sh for 45'ish and the second at 30'ish for 45'ish. 2 hour SI. I hadn't been drinking the night before, though I could've drank more water. We've all done it, indeed I still do it, just with a shitload more deco. 'Fraid the silicone chip will never be able to replicate biology, Peter |

I always do a safety stop, I always ascend very slowly, and try to ascend from the safety stop as slow as possible. If it is cold I will normally drag the safety stop out to 4 or even 5 minutes. And all this is on relatively conservative dives. Same rules apply to deco obligations, If I start racking up deco I just look at what it is telling me and then add some for my own comfort factor. In Summary, I use it as a tool to provide information and then make my own decisions based on what it is telling me. Daz

| Imported post And another thing, to show that it's not just me. Ask any of our chamber monkeys how many times a year they hear "Why did I get bent? I followed my computer to the letter!" The simple fact is they've answered their own question. Must go and put shoes on. I'm getting skelfs from this soapbox. Peter |
