A question for the Gas Blenders out there

I have a had a quick read through Diggers Gas Blending thread http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/fo...8&page=1&pp=10 and seen Nigels windows program on there but I have a question regarding what sort of mix I can expect in the following scenario.

120 Bar remaining of 32% in twin 12 (232 bar) cylinders. Air top off back to 232bar, what is likely to be the resultant mix.

Not being trained in the secret art of blending I thought I would pose the question rather than go off on some hairbrain plan of planning fills and diving plans and then get something completely different when I analyse my tanks before the dive... PS is there a secret formula....?

Mark

isn't it just maths, although I just may be wrong

(120bar x 32%) + (112bar x 21%) / 232 = 26.7%

you get 26.7%

Here's how you work it out...................

120bar of 32% is like 38.4 bar of O2 and 81.6 bar of N2

adding 112 bar of air is like adding 23.4bar of O2 and 88.6bar of N2

So you end up with 61.8bar of O2 and 170.2bar of N2

61.8 as a percentage of 232 is 26.64%

It's easy!

The secret formula I use is V-Planner - it makes life much easier and tells us 27%.
