Doing it right in an inverted "stylee"

Hi All
unless you are lucky enough to have someone sort out kit configurations for you then kit is an ever changing cycle so here the latest addition to my setup .

It started out as I was waiting to be de-dieseled at Stoney that I saw a diver with inverts and a smashing stand, so I introduced myself and asked where he got it from, he said he made it years ago but if I wished he would send me the plans, so cheers Dick much appreciated.

He did and they made no sense to me so I started making inquiries, I spoke to John from Kent tooling who said he could sort one out but in the meantime I had an offer of a YBOD so decided to stick with my CD stand as the twinverts would have had to go into the YBOD fund.

The YBOD was sold from under me and straight after I was contacted by Dick who said he had spoken to a friend Mike Perfect from DiveKit UK Home Page - Scuba Diving Accessories, Divers Reels, Pony Clamps and Rattles who had agreed to make a prototype, so I felt obliged to go with this option, and after 2 weeks here is the beast, I have to say I'm over the moon with it and Mike's service.

It is a thing of beauty and does away with the potential strength problems of the CD one, it's way more stable, and comes fully de-burred.

Just to show that it doesn't interfere with the isolator operation.

Threw that one in to show ease of shutdowns

I've posted this to show another and IMO better way of inverting not to start a debate on inverting, if you don't like it don't do it, but if you do or are interested and want to try it get in touch and I'll be more than happy to either let you have a go, or talk you through it. Mike said he will be producing these stands.

The stand cost £55 and £8 delivery not bad considering 2nd hand CD one's I have seen sell for around that price, it get it's first wet off Anglesey next weekend so I'll post an update on this thread.

Safe diving,
Steve

P.S. does anyone want to buy a 2nd hand CD stand

P.P.S. please ask for my permission before using any of the above images for any DIR hall of shame posts

Hi Fi,

never been off OC, everytime I have tried to buy a YBOD someone has either pipped me to it or it hasn't been worth the asking price or I couldn't afford it etc, etc, etc so I reckon we could buddy up for the U90 again if you'll dive with me

Safe diving,
Steve

I can confirm that it is very comfy, well mine is anyway and no the first stages don't stick in your butt and mine is big enough so I should know

I had a little free flow on the surface on Monday or Tuesday and shut the valve down in about a second.
