Well, they probably both know of each other really well now, so that should break the ice so to speak.

Excuse the lisp.

Following on from Gollop's original post, I'm also interested in going along the Technical Diving path.

At the moment I'm a PADI RD with Level II Nitrox and about 200+ dives to date. I dive with twin 10's but I want to know/learn more about Adv Nitrox & Decompression procedures to allow me to do longer dives with gas planning but with the reassurance of doing it safely!

A couple of friends did the TDI Adv Nitrox and Decompression course last year but someone has now told me that I could do a similar course through ANDI (it was either the TSD L3 or the ERD L4?). Can anyone tell me which one would be the better option?

Completely Confused!

The best bet is to find a decent instructor that you get on with and not worry too much about the agency. The courses are all very similar to be honest.

Mark Powell is well respected on here and worth a phone call or an email. I'm booked in with him later this year, but that will be my first course with him, so hard to give a first hand recommendation. Wittering Divers in Brighton are good and offer both the TDI and IANTD courses (IIRC they do both certs at the same time if you want for only the extra cost of the manuals and cert fees).

I've done TDi adv. nitrox and deco with Mark Powell. I'd thoroughly recomend him, absolutely excellent. Just don't leave any loose line around, or you'll end up wearing it

Great, thanks for the feedback.

It's good to know what other people think about instructors and courses!

2nd'd, 3rd'd, 4th'd or 5th'd... Not sure how many recommendations there's been further up the list?

Good instructor though whichever number I'd be saying it!

I've done a Tech Rescue course with Mark, and Adv Nit and Deco.... Will be doing Adv Wreck with him in Scapa in about 3 1/2 weeks! YAY!
