Ah, you never said that you'd screwed your knob in yourself - that explains why it fell off, then! Still think you got a good deal from the nice man in the shop - £3.50 and that included the screw!

well, I saw the knob floating behind your head and checked your knobs and they were all present. You checked my knobs and they were there but you obviously couldn't see the knob I keep under my arm.

The look on the guys at Scapa Scuba's face when I walked in and told him I had lost my knob was a treat.

Twating with a mallet works for me every time,
but..............EN ISO 13341 Transportable gas cylinders - fitting of valves to gas cylinders, says the basicaly the following:
Seamless Steel
M18 = 100 - 130N.m
M25 = 100 - 130N.m
Alloy
M18 = 85 - 100N.m
M25 = 95 - 130N.m

oh, and with a callibrated torque wrench !

Thanks fatone,

I needed that info for when i swap over a valve on my 12L, to one that can use DIN as well as A. But if it comes to it, i might just let the LDS do the work, might be easier and safer (not that i dont mind hammering things).
