best pressure for AL80's

If you dive with Al80 as a three or four stage setup what pressure do you use in the 80's i have found 165bar works well for the buoyancy and weight in the water.
but i am interested in what you dive with and why do you fill to 200bar?

i know some of you dive using a leash at what pressure does this work for you?

I fill slightly higher with 18/52. I've only dived with a second AL80 once (last weekend in Vobster) and that was full-ish. If it's slightly heavier then it sits on top of the light tank and so it's not so much of a problem.

210 bar for me - with as much helium as possible so the fill pressure is not relevant.

I don't really use them as deco gas bottles any more, just bottom stages. Having said that, if I did use them for 50 per cent (which I have done in the past) I'd still get them filled - it's not that big a deal.

Like all good DIR divers I dive two on the left.

I don't dive with a leash, but just clip them both to the left-nipple and left-hip d-rings. On my MOD2 I tried it this way, bilaterally mounted, and also nose clipping the 7-litre to the hip d-ring.

I liked the nose-clipped 7 best, but was worried about losing it. Second choice was my current set up, as somehow it feels less cluttered. At least I can get to one side of my body!

That said, it is important to get the position of the d-rings right, and the length of the string to the boltsnap right. If it's too long then the tanks slide under your body.

Have a look at the photos on Marks Duke of Bucceugh thread. I am wearing two stages left here, but they are a 7 and an 80.

link didnt work mate but i know what you mean i read the link

i have looked at this leash idea i personally don't like it as you say you could lose gas with this however i have adapted the method for me with a slip line to the D ring and I'm much happier with that.

however i still dive left and right with two stages

Al80

As with all deco bottles,i have them all blown to the max(210bar).
I would not be to happy in dropping the pressure in order to accomadate there initial bouyancy,as this would compramise redundancy, ie Buddy lost gas situation. When planning a dive i always calculate my required Deco gas times two,as i said this allows for any failiures with my Buddies Deco gas. In dropping there initial pressure, this would inturn reduce my bottom time,as i would have to re-plan the dive to accomadate the reduction in gas. On dives in the 70-80mtr range,i run 3 deco bottles
AL80 50%/AL 7ltr 100%/ AL 5ltr 32/20 Deep Deco and travel mix.All Deco bottles are mounted on the left, with the 7ltr being nose clipped to the hip D-ring.

Hi

For bottom gas I fill to 235 ish and it will cool to 220. For deco I stick to the 200. You can never have too much bottom gas
