Personally I can't recommend Phil highly enough - he's a very capable instructor and a genuinely nice bloke to boot. Despite my DIR leanings, I've done a lot of training with Phil upto and including trimix level. What I like about Phil is that - unlike some instructors (including at least one that's been mentioned in this thread) - Phil is actively out there diving at expedition level in locations as diverse as the Caucus mountains in Russia. I'd advise anyone looking to train with a so-called 'tech' instructor to question the sort of diving that person has done in the last twelve months - if it's training dives only, look elsewhere...
