If I was Garf I'd be a bit miffed....he did a dive on air and everyone said "Tut Tut, you should've used Trimix" He now wants Trimix and he's getting "Why not use air (albeit 32%)"

You just can't win can you!!

Vobster != The inside of the Markgraf

(I assume from GLOC's comment to Bardo that the course is at Vobster)

Nope, Stoney....I have been below 26m in Vobster and never want to go back again. Like swimming in mud, literally. When we were down last weekend in Vobster Tim described diving there with a video camera and being able to see a 'solid' line where the 'sh*t-o-cline' was.

Although I am sure Andy will be loading us up enough to wonder wtf is going on

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Hehe. I honestly didn't pay the class schedule that much attention - there were certain other documents that were *far* more interesting!

Glad to hear Garf's sorted now, though, and - of course - good luck to the three of you! The rumours I've heard that Andy intends his last Tech-1 to be a course that people will talk nervously about for years to come are not to be believed, I'm sure...

Hehe. I remember that Dive with Tim well - made for some interesting video, to say the least!

That said, I've dived at Vobster at times where the viz has been phenominal - I'm talking 20m+ here! Admittedly you don't get conditions like that very often but most of the time, viz can be good during the week. As I've always said, the best day to visit Vobster is on a Thursday - it's reasonably quiet and the lake has had a couple of days to settle (providing it hasn't pissed down the night before, of course).

LOL

called divenazi, sorry dive central, in milton keynes, and they said

"oh just get your instructor to drop them an email"

Called today to make sure its ok that I bring in my tanks

"your instructor will need to come in and show his card"

After a long discussion, I managed to get this out of them

"get your insturctor to write a letter with details of the gas and its purpose, and photocopy both sides of their trimix certification, and then post it all to us" and that SHOULD be ok.

pitiful customer service. just pitiful.

And I'm back to square one with needing a mix fill in the milton keynes area!

LOL! Not surprised. Do you not have anyone who lives near you that happens to have a trimix certification and would be happy to travel to the LDS with you and sign for your gas? Failing that, perhaps Andy could fax across a copy of his cert? (he could fax the IANTD Trimix ticket I saw him use at Stoney once! )
