| Dive-Tek Cyprus Newsletter Hi folks, Been a while since we've been up on YD - too busy being busy! Anyway, attached our Winter 2006 Newsletter of recent goings-on and updates, for your info! NEWS...NEWS...NEW…NEWS...NEWS... The newsletter of DIVE-TEK CYPRUS, the only dedicated 100% Tech Diving facility in Cyprus Winter 2006The end of Dive-Tek’s 2nd year has seen a great deal of activity, with us running several courses, hosting groups from regular and new customers from UK and Scandinavia, the start of the Green Bay Wreck Project, NEC appearance, and welcoming some new associates on-board, to name but a few! Firstly, congrats must go to the following folks who recently passed their courses with us: • Dr Andrew Allan – ITDA Trimix & Trimix Blender • Alex Tsikaluk – ITDA Trimix • Stephanos & Spyros – IANTD Mod 1 (Megalodon) with Rasmus Lauritsen • Clive Hemming – ITDA Trimix The NEC this year saw us again working the ITDA stand with Steve Murray and co, including Tim Stevens from Devon, ITDA Course Director and my Commercial Diving instructor from 15 years ago! Nice to see you again Tim. ITDA continues to move forward in giant leaps, with the end of 2006 seeing them re-locating to a new business unit in South Wales, and with their Regional & Service Offices now in 26 countries. Their wide range of programs, from Sport and Technical to some very impressive Medical and Hyperbaric programs, are constantly being reviewed, and standards up-dated. ITDA Tech Programs boast high standards, and Steve and the team continues to work with the HSE and other global diving safety groups to keep diving safe for all. We have an ITDA Instructor Training Course scheduled for early December, where you’ll have the opportunity to crossover at your equivalent grade, or upgrade to the next level. Contact us or ITDA for details: Website Powered by itdagroup.com. Instructor courses are also provisionally planned for early 2007, as these events are now getting popular. We’ll also be running a variety of Technical Programs throughout November/December, aimed at local instructors wanting to get onto the Technical ladder. Please contact us for more info. Also at the NEC, we met with Leon Scamerhorn of Innerspace Systems, and are pleased to announce that we have been appointed the Cyprus Main Agent for Megalodon, in association with Rasmus Lauritsen of Nortech Diving. Courses are already being planned for 2007, so check our web for details. 2007 also sees us involved in more activity with IANTD. After being off the scene for a while in UK, they bounced back big-time at the NEC, with a popular stand and with Phil Short in attendance. We hope to see more IANTD divers next year. Mark Powell has been out with us twice this year, with another excellent Zenobia diving trip last month. He’s busy organising for 2007, so if you want to get on his trips & courses contact him asap at: mark@dive-tech.co.uk. Mark is also organizing an NAS Archaeological Course trip on the Green Bay Wreck Project next year, so contact him if interested. Mark kindly introduced us to the SAA National Diving Officer, Ian Pilling, so SAA officers and members, our doors are open, and we’re offering discount to members, so please contact Ian for details. We’ve also had groups & courses out from Rich Stevenson, Rasmus Lauritsen and Paul (Curly) Manser of Blue Turtle Diving – thanks folks, and hope to see you in 2007. The website is now getting updated, and we’ve made changes to several pages, including Prices (!), Courses, Links and we’ll soon be adding more PDF downloads on kit, trip reports, projects and articles. If you think you have a good link you’d like us to add, please drop us a line. Next year sees us expanding, as we’ve run out of space, getting bigger gas storage facilities, booster, and probably compressor upgrade, too! We are also now local dealers for Northern Diver, OMS, a Poseidon dealer and Service Centre, as well as a Service Centre for Apeks. Lastly, but by no means least, we welcome 2 new chaps to the team, Jonny (JB) Bekkestad, who is looking after our Scandinavian sales & marketing, based in cosmopolitan Stockholm, and Pete Crane, who’ll be with us here in Cyprus (you’ll find him at Stoney over the winter, so drop in and say hi). Apologies to anyone or anything I’ve missed, we’ll catch-up in the next newsletter! So, that's all folks! Have a good festive season and we look forward to seeing you in 2007!
