| 22Kg. The large wing that APD do for their RB, as they don't make a bigger wing, I'm sure you don't need one. Taking cover |

| I've found that since inviting the Lord Jesus Christ into my life as my personal saviour - I don't need to use a wing at all. I trust that he'll lift me from the watery depths should my resolve fail and no matter how many times I screw up under water - I know he'll always be there for me with his redeeming love and a CBL. Should I happen to be diving with Digsy Wigsy Honeypumpkin, we just hold hands round the wreck and use whatever secondhand patched dinghy he's knicked off Woz and strapped to his back that week to control both our buoyancy. It's extremely romantic and it builds team confidence. It really is too much of a stretch to expect JC to CBL DIggeR - he's clearly going directly to hell on the day of reckoning - which is apparently very similar to Birmingham anyway - just warmer and with more brimstone. Apologies to any Christians out there - but I've just spent the evening having dinner with my sister and brother in law who make the Flanders off the Simpsons look like Black Sabbath and I've had nearly two bottles of red. Forgive me - its in the small print Oh and do what Bob Cooper says he's usually right

Everyone knows that the correct colour for the dive rite classic is black, with holes in the outer bag badly bodged up with patches from a bicycle repair kit. Proper gear. BTW it's about 25kg I believe.

I can understand why someone starting out and looking at all the options would want to buy themselves 300BAR cylinders, however I belive that 300BAR cylinders are not the right choice to start out with, perhaps further down the line someone will decide it is an avenue that they wish to explore that may be good for them, but I do not think it is a good kit choice as a first twin set. However I am not sure that I would listen to that advice myself if I were starting out now, instead I would be tempted to make the same mistake my cousin did and purchase a 300BAR twinset and then regret it. I think that the OP should get some experience with a more standard twin set and then test a 300BAR set before investing in one and that is the point I am trying to emphasize. WRT Wing size, it is personal preference if you want to have a built in life raft for when you get back to the surface but the shaggy dog stories about lifiting another diver who has suffered multiple equipment failiures do not make much sence to me. With a 16Kg wing: presuming that you actually need about 8kg of lift maximum during the dive, then you already have at least 8Kg spare to lift an object or assist another diver, if you are intending lifting anything heavier then you should be using a lift bag/SMB on a line not your own BCD. Or perhaps you see your wing as a replacement for a lift bag. If you are lifting a body/unconcious diver, would you use their BCD or your own? Just how many failiure scenarios do you wish to take into consideration? Just how badly weighted are the people you dive with and is none of it ditchable? Do you and the people you dive with not always have a redundant BCD (smb/lift bag)? Of course if you are not sure about this then just get a pair of double bladder 100lbs wings to be sure - however as has been said before, equipment cannot always provide where skills are lacking Getting advice & suggestions from an Internet Forum is interesting but is no replacement for a trusted instructor.
