That's the very point I am making....you have learned what you understand as DOTF from the internet but recognise that's not the same as what someone who has been on the course would understand.

I think the first step I'd take would be to seek the opinion of your "local" tech1 instructor. There may be strong views about publishing elements of what is taught as part of a GUE course to the general public. Granted with AGs paper out there it isn't quite as mystical as it was, but I think it's still courteous to do that.

If you get the nod then I agree - publish with the usual raft of caveats and suggestions for further training. If you choose to go off and dive using a deco model that you learnt off t'internet without understanding what it does and why then more fool you.

But it's still a theory lesson, not a practical lesson. Anyway, didn't a wise man once say "if you cannot explain it in one line it will not work underwater"

It wasn't that we couldn't use RD per se, but that Frank wanted us to submit dive plans that had providence in recognised software.

For the dives we did on the course we were able to do that using Decoplanner.

I personally don't want to do DOTF as I love my dive computer. Gradient factors? Sounds like hard work ............ unless you are going downhill I suppose ............
