Anybody diving gas has been using them for years. Granted, not full of argon. But full of somehting that won't freeze you. B |

Valve-up I can (or could - I haven't tried for a while) get to any one valve. Valve down I can get to any two. Judicious placing of the isolator valve and a thin wetsuit and I could shut all three Janos

I also believe that OC backup regs should be left on too. But then my scooter dives can be counted on the fingers of one hand, so losing gas in that way doesn't concern me, and I can't see myself doing serious scootering with an OC buddy. Janos EDIT: Just out of interest, but what does an RB80 diver do with his clipped off long hose? Is it on or off?

No I am dead serious, When i started gas diving with trimix we were all using stages for suit inflation. Its only recently the seporate cylinder has become common on the boats i frequent, Nauticat, Sparticat, Defiant, DS9, Voyger (which ever), Girl Grey, Sundancer, I cant remeber any one in Just Diving who used a seporate suit inflation tank? Mybe Alan (getafix) would know better. I personaly got my first ever suit inflation bottle shortly after i went CCR in 2004. OK they were common by then but most people I knew on OC were still using stages. In fact, come to think of it, you may be the first person i ever saw with one. Back in December 2003 when we dived the Waterford together. ATB Mark Chase

I think the thread has go off track enough to mention, I ran main reg on left post and had a slob knob on isolator so I could isolate with my right hand and reach back to grab the valve to shut down, with my left. This was the fastest method I could find. With a MDE manifold I could isolate in under two seconds, then shutdowns took as long as they took. ATB Mark Chase
