Floaty tanks.....

Just a thinking out loud session from me......

I have bought a second had a set of twin 232bar 10L steel with manifold.

I could use them for two dives on a weekend but may push a save reserve.

I also have 3 x SO80's so I could swap the manifold from the 10s to the 11.1Ls.

Now the rub.....

The 10L steels are heavy and don't change that much when the air is used.
A twin SO80 would change from -2lb to somewhere near 9lb light at the end of a dive.

I don't really want to add that much (and more as the SO80 weigh less than the steels) to my weight belt so .......

Am I right?

If I swap from twin steel to twin ali is it all going to get very floaty?
Am I going to have to add weight because the cylinders weigh less and then add weight because they get positive?

Neil

ps....before you do air calcs and say that twin 11.1L at 200 bar don't have more air than twin 10L at 232bar, they all get filled to 210bar by the same compressor!

eerrr......the long hose is in my diving box. It is however, yellow so not very techy!

My thought was that I could turn up with it all together (the kit, not me), dive twice and then take it all away in one piece. Saves all the faffing about putting kit together on the boat.
