| Go For The Vr3 Its The Best! |

| Evaluation Kind of late to this thread but thought this may interest someone. Huggins KE. Evaluation of Dive Computer Options for Potential Use in 300 FSW Heliox/ Trimix Surface Supplied Scientific Diving. In: Lang, MA and Smith, NE (eds.). | Like Mythic I am looking to upgrade to a Trimix computer. People appear to "love or hate" the VR3 but we haven't been shown any alternatives. Sheerwater (like the name), what sort of price does it retail at and where stocks it? Also pretty much the same question for the Dive Rite one. Currently we are still newly qualified and open circuit, but (money permitting) a rebreather is a distinct possibility in the future. The fact the VR3 can be upgraded as my diving progresses is a big attraction, but from some of the replies on here it suggests that you have mixed feelings about the upgrades. Surely upgrading the VR3 is cheaper than buying a whole new computer? Cheers |

| I've had a VR3 for a few years now and wouldn't be without it... I know people moan about the price of the upgrade...simply ringing DeltaP and paying for a pin code to unlock software thats already installed is a bit ...well you know what I mean. If I'd splashed out and bought a VR3 at the beginning I reccon I could have saved the best part of a grand..buy new computers and then selling on the old one.. I must hve lost a fortune. Aladin pro Aladin Air Z Vyper Stinger quantum...x2 they broke Vytec and now a VR3..with a colour screen and I'm completely happy.

| I love my VR3 and wouldn't swap it but a lot of the tech divers out in Egypt swear by the Shearwater....and I do like that graphing feature Mark posted. Perhaps it's time for a backup device to replace my Vytec!!

| I know nothing about Tech Diving, Well only what i have learned on YD Are they different machines? or same the one with different "Programs" Would the VR2 or VR3 be suitable for recreational diving using Air and Nitrox or would it be overkill? Thoughts? Thanks |
