I dont think you are correct with your assertion that using the jacket as it was designed will put to much strain on it, after all it was designed to be used that way.

| With all respect it, my assertion was right. I did not say when it was going to fail and was not been specific about its lifetime but that it will fail. A lot of demanding dive equipment is designed to withstand much stresses and strains but it all eventually fails. This just adds or increases if you like the likelihood of the failure occuring, that is without doubt. Its common sense that if you pull on something it will break.... even if it was designed to be pulled, have you never tore a rope or elastic band for example. Jonny |

| Presumably Jonny is talking about pulling the corrugated hose that has a dump at the back - not all BCs have this feature. I use the pull to dump toggle on the right side of my Buddy Trident. On a Buddy the dump valves have a one way system so if you dump all the air water does not go in. Using the hose you can let water into your BC.

| Buddy wings have a built in clip on the harness that clips to the corrugated hose. When I re-harnessed mine I kept the clip parts on the left shoulder webbing. It doesnt stop the hose from getting in the correct position whe raised. Matt |
